Hello all you lovely people!
[People are so wonderful -- the more I think about God the more I see how amazing humans are in general; therefore, I am convinced that thinking about how amazing God is happens to be not only the best way to appreciate people but also the best humanitarian project. Perhaps that is an oxymoron.]
Ok, so onto the exciting part:
I have just finished what I will call Phase One of my time in Romania -- the mission trip with my brothers and sisters from Trinity Bible Church!
All of the team survived, praise God, and only two are developing colds as I type. (You can pray for my brother as he flies home with his cold and my father as he stays to minister in Romania with his cold.
God was with us. You may not have realized this, but to do a mission trip that is actually effective, God has to decide that it's a good idea; you can't just say, "I think this would be a good thing to do for God -- He will appreciate it -- so I'll have to figure all the logistics out for Him and organize it; then, if I plan it well, it will work out."
God will prepare the people you will speak with and plan where you will go.
One of my favorite statements is: "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans."
My favorite part of this whole thing was getting to meet great people and make new friends and speak with old friends face to face. There are so many amazingly brilliant and lovingly real people to meet.
We spoke at three churches on Sunday, got to spend time playing volleyball and kickball with the youth and children, and did four childrens programs in four villages in Oltenia. Wow. One sentence can sum up what our schedule was, but it could never describe what happened. I don't think I could describe it all either.
Please pray for continuing energy for my father and I and especially for continuing love and grace from God to well up in us enough to overflow. A lot. Also, pray for the rest of the team as they travel back to Texas.
God,
"Into this darkness You shine; out of the ashes we rise."

Hey Hay! I hope you will write about Aug. 20th being Hungarian Independence Day and all our experience about being in Budapest! If you don't want to that's ok. I might give it a try as a note on FB.
